Benchhook is a small, independent journal. This page explains what information the site collects from visitors, why, and what choices you have about it. If anything here is unclear, write to us at the address at the bottom.
If you submit your email through the subscribe form, it's used only to send the occasional essay notice described on the homepage. You can ask to be removed at any time by writing to the address below — we process removal requests directly, by hand, rather than through an automated system.
The subscribe form uses your browser's local storage to remember that you've already signed up, purely so the confirmation message doesn't repeat itself. This stays on your device and isn't sent to us or to any third party.
The Toolcount app described on this site is a separate product with its own data-handling practices, described where you download or set it up. This privacy policy covers the Benchhook website only.
Benchhook is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We don't expect to change it often — the site collects very little to begin with.
